Potty Training Suggestions

Posted On: 9/30/2008
It wouldn't be fair to suggest that potty training is always going to be easy. While there are many potty training tips that can make toilet training your toddler easier, it's likely you will run into trouble. When that happens, turn to www.pottytrainingadvice.org for tips and suggestions from parents and experts.

Your comments and participation can help these struggling parents. Leave a comment and offer your potty training suggestions.

At Animegmrgrl's Blog, a young mom writes about her potty training frustrations. Not only is she potty training her toddler--a real feat in and of itself--but she also has a new job. She writes:

Zack likes the idea that he's getting to wear "big boy" undies, but the concept of telling us that he has to pee is totally flying over his head.  I understand we've only been at it for 3 days now, but I'm starting to get frustrated and upset.  Having Jason around when we started this was such a blessing.  Zack responds to Jay more with all this than he does me.

Insanity at It's Best is written with humor, and this parent makes no bones about it--she needs advice when it comes to toilet training her daughter. Her post is titled, "I Need All Help and Advice. NOW."

Save me dear god. I have now realized that potty training a 27 month old is absolutely the worst job ever. I am about 2 hours into it and I can't handle it. ... So any advice would be great. I know it's just day one, or just the first few hours. But I really think she is ready, she HATES being dirty, wants to be changed, and is very interested in the potty chair, toilet, and big girl pants too.

At the Hailey & Ali blog, a mother chronicles her exasperation in "Day 2 of Potty Training."

I tried to Potty train Ali while ago but threw in the towel because she is waaaay too head strong and it was really painful for me!!! Since she is almost 2 1/2 now I decided it was time once and for all to begin this painful process...it's definitely a different ball of wax with Ali because she is sooo stubborn and only wants to do what she wants to do... when SHE wants to do it...I'm trying to make this seem like her idea.
